When politicians debate admitting wrong and changing their mind on the spot by learning new facts about a certain subject, is rare.

But why?

The politician doesn’t want to lose face or seem weak.

Again, why?

The people deserve the “best” and qualified minds to work together. I think for the amount of money and power some politicians are about. It should be performed by more than one leader.

Someone could and will argue against this that it could remove productively and effectiveness.

I say to that , we can fly to the moon and speak with people in Tibet while following them by camera sitting on a toilet at the gas station on route 66. We can work on a good system that allows more voices. It will cost a bit more time to set up and let it roll. But eventually it will pay off.

Smaller countries are a good example, then would the same system work for a bigger country? Of course it does. Maybe it will look a bit strange if you see more leaders on a stage. But like a small car with a normal sized wheel, or a monster truck with a big wheel. It looks funny, but the monster truck can handle bigger obstacles. Okay this is not the best example perhaps to compare political issues to.

However I like a consensus driven country as for example The Netherlands. Even though it is not perfect, it does work. One party will always have to look for a way to work together with an opposite party.

And that is how it should be, no dividing the people to look for the next person to blame. Put that energy in solutions. We are all adults here.

I am looking for the title of a documentary, that was mainly set in the USA, talking about changing the power pyramid to begin with cities instead of starting at the bigger government entities.

It was a good documentary and it is how you could start a system like this. Together with the government, this way they raised minimum wage in once city (I think it was Seattle, not sure ) and it worked ! However a system like this will have to be synchronized with the government because eventually the imbalance between regions will be to big. Do you know the title of the documentary ?
